Necessary? Depends on who you ask and how often you want to replace your Torsion Bars.

Without going to a larger bar you will wear out the O.E. bars at a rather fast rate.

As far as which bars to get..

I can only speak from what I have. I have the Nissan Motorsport/Sway-a-way bars. Got them from Xterraparts.com and have been very happy with them.

How are you planning on using a WARN9500I without a winch bumper?

I did not install them myself. I had Nissan do it. :-)

they sell portable winch carrier. it hooks up to your tow hitch. I am getting a front receiver/hitch and a portable winch carrier. i am trying not to get a bull bar b/c i want my winch to be portable (front or rear). if i do decide to change my vehicle a few years down the road, i would like to move my winch to new suv/truck.
my only concern is that when i have my winch put on, would it do any kind of damage on the torsion bar or suspension part?!?

Make sure the front hitch is connected to the frame very well.
I've seen people get those movable winches and put a Class II reciever in front.
Class II is rated for 3500 lbs and the winch is rated for 9000 lbs, do the math.

After one pull the reciever brace had distorted and one mounting bolt had its head sheared off.

Does anybody recommend that you do the Torsion Bar upgrade yourself or should this be professional done? If so, are there instructions posted that anybody is aware of?

I have done four torsion bar upgrades. Fairly easy to do if your mechanical competent. Here is the link to follow for do-it-yourselfers.

Here, you can also use this. I got this from the Automotive Customizers site. Reindexing Torsion Bars Hope it helps. Good luck.

That PDF from Automotive Customizers is crap and doesn't explain anything about how to replace torsion bars correctly.

Replacing the stock torsion bars is pointless unless yours are sagging severely. Your removable winch mount will be in the back of the vehicle, and not mounted unless you need it.
