I did my first oil change Friday. I noticed when I started it up after adding new oil / filter that the motor made some awful noises for about 2 seconds, then promptly went away. Presumably unprotected engine parts lacking lubrication that quieted down after the oil primed through the system. Has anybody else experienced this?

And oh yeah, that filter location sucks, but we've already complained about that in another thread!

What oil are you using? Are you using 5W-30 or 5W-40?

That is because your oil filter was empty. You won't have any problems. It is perfectly normal.
