Who Has Traded Up????

As my screen name implies, I was in a 2000 green Xterra and just upgraded to the 2005 Off Road. Anyone else make the switch???

I went from an 02 to an 05.

I went from a '91 Camry (~140k miles) to a 2000 X (~26k miles, now ~48k) about 14 months ago.

I went from a 1995 mercedes C-36AMG to my 2000 xterra. I miss the benz a lot, but the X is just a completely different kind of vehicle (apples to oranges.) I like my 2000 too much to get a 2005 at this point.

I went from an awesome 2001 Xterra to a 2005 Offroad. The horsepower difference alone was reason enough for me to swich. They also improved the interior and offered the Locker feature on the Offroad.

There were to many improvements for me not go to the 05. If I had the money I would have kept my 02 also. The vehicles are pretty different. Both special in their own ways. As I was saying the 05 fixed every complaint I had with the 1st gen X's.
It has created all new headaches too.

Went from a 1996 Acura Integra to a 2000 4x4 SE X, last month.

I'm not trading up from one X to another but I am definitely trading up from what I have now. The 95 Blazer has got to go, I hate it. I also have a 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse which I love but I need a 4x4. And a reliable one at that. The Blazer has had more problems then I can count.

Went from a 2003 nissan Altima ( eat up the alotted miles driving to work in NJ everyday at the time I was consolting for IBM) to the 04 Xterra.

My wife and I had to break the lease to buy the Beast.

Now going to pay a big chunck off the loan this fall so I can trade it in for the 06 X when it comes out.

It will be the off road version and has to have the vanity mirror for my wife(that regreats not getting that feature when we got it).

She bought me the 04 as a present. (had to convince her first to do the switch )

I love my Solar yellow X too much...so I bought another a 2005 red Brawn last April.

Thought about trading, but did not. Who wants another 5 or 6 year mortgage?

I traded up my 01 XE for a Jeep. Believe it or not, the Jeep has had fewer problems (none) than the X and it can climb a curb without lifting a wheel.

Sold (to get more $$$ compared to the trade in value) my 96 Mustang Cobra and 97 Tacoma P/U V6 4X4 SR5 Ext Cab. I dont regret it.

When I got the Xterra, I traded in a 85 Camry, is the 86 sadder than an 85?

I traded my 2001 Xterra XE for a 2005 Xterra Offroad.

The different engine was a huge factor. MUCH more power.

The interior has been upgraded, and with exception of the 16 inch tires I LOVE all the differences from 2001 to 2005. To me it seems like they really listened to the owners on what they would like to see and made as much happen in 2005 as they could.

I still love driving this new one, it was very much worth it to me.

There must be something about 1st gen Camrys and Xterras. I also traded up from an 86 Camry. It was an LE, highest back then, with all the fancy features. Burned oil badly, 120 psi compression on 3 cylinders.

went from a 98 jeep cherokee limited to an 05 xterra se. don't plan on modding the x like i did the jeep, tho.

from an offroad standpoint it was a big trade up... but I'm certain I wil buy anothe rX in the Future... maybe when the Jeep dies... probably another 2000, but a SAS is a must after owning the Jeep
