cross bars for roofrack - 22/01/08 09:46 AM

Does anybody have a suggestion on where to find the cross bars for a 2008 XTerra OEM roofrack. I bought the X package and it doesn't come with them. Best local price is $105 each. Best internet price is right at $90 each plus shipping. I'll need two. Thanks!

Figmo: It was the CourtesyParts.com website. The website said they were out of stock but could have them in a few days. I know they are OEM parts but I still feel they are overpriced. None on EBay either. I appreciate everybody's input.

Thanx Chihuax. I'm in the same boat as you, no crossbars with my new X. I'm want a roof rack for camping crap. I'm leaning toward the load warrior, which needs crossbars; I've read numerous positive threads about it. Any thoughts about options for roof racks?

Great minds think alike. Yakima load warrior in the future for me too. I went to the Yakima and Gobi site to see if they had a basket that attached directly to the side rails on the roof rack. No such luck. If the cross bars don't turn up on Ebay I guess I'll buy a set from Courtesy Parts. Got to buy a tow hitch first though. Good luck in your search!

Check out the Buy/Sell forum here. That's where I got mine, after spending months scowering junk yards to no avail. (had a used 03 X a while back that I bought used and it was missing one).

Might take a while, but if you're not in a hurry it's probably about the cheapest option.

Chihuax and 05_X,
Thanx much, your responsive feedback has been very helpful. I just joined XOC and I've found a wealth of knowledge and modification ideas in the forums.

Instead of going with Nissan crossbars-
Het yourself some Yakima EZ/Low-riders and utilize the Yakima Crossbars.

Same here. I have no luck with the crossbars. I actually just need 1 clamp off a crossbar. (dark grey plastic that clamps into the siderail)

Im still searching....

question: are all Yakima EZ/Lowriders fit on Xterra's or is there a certain model number for it?

Thanks
