no place to put ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!

I have been struggling with two big things about my X. The first. I have an 03 XE and I love the cup holders up front. However, I have to use one of them as a change holder, not a cup holder! So when it comes time to use them as a cup holder, I can't! The console is worthless for putting change into. Anyone have any solutions as to keep change handy for tolls and stuff? AND - I have Sirius (with a the big old reciever) and it has to sit on top of one of the cup holders. I haven't found anywhere good to put all this stuff! AAAAHHH!!!!!!!

Sounds like you need to sit and stare at it. Something will come. I use One cup holder for change and if needed just take the rubber cover out if I need to use it. sirus not sure what to tell you ther sorry.

yup, same here, but i have 3 cupholders in my Xterra cuz its a 5spd, so i use one for change, and 2 for drinks

Buy an 05/06...there is enough places to put stuff your head will spin

1. Target..$3.00 Cup coin holder. Holds a nice stack each of dimes, nickels, quarters. Spring loaded, coins pop up. Bottom unscrews to put more change into. Fits nicely in rear or front cup holder.
2. Hang an organizer over the back of the seat.
3. Use the Handy Dandy Xterra Backpack for something other than just decoration!!(Just messin with ya.!!) ..

Ditto. I use the shallow top armrest compartment. BJS, you do realize there are 2 separate compartments in the armrest, right? that top one is so shallow, loose change is about the only thing that will fit in it!

I got me one of those little "change bags", where I stash my change and I put in that little compartment between the AC and Stereo...

I use the top compartment in my arm rest for change also,works out pretty good.

Funny, my X has cubbies all oer the place...and, the lid of the console has slots for change anyway...the dash has cut outs and cubbies, the door pockets, the seat backs all have storage, etc.

Hope you find some on that '03 of yours.

'03 has plenty of places to put change and things..I don't what bjs292 is Bitchin' about..he's probably on his Period...

Why not just get EZPASS ??? Then you can just cruise right thru the tolls at 40 mph. I've used EZPASS for about a year now, and it is great.

As for the X's not having nooks and crannies for everything... well just get used to it. My cherokees had larger armrest consoles, a tray under the e brake handle, and a slot under the glove box. They were better than my X for this. But once you drive your X enough, you'll just learn to work with what you've got.

One cup holder I use for change. The top bin in the console I use for extra stickers. I tried putting change in the top bin of the console but when you open the bottom part (it folds back toward the backseat) the change fell out the crack! (NO COMMENTS please... I know how you all think!) So, I put my change in the cup holder. You can still put a soda in on top of the change too - unless you have a LOT of change. Mickey D's just loves to get sticky change!

I filed off the XM clip (took 1 minute tops)
and drilled several holes to mount the sirius
looks real nice and clean. ran the wires through the counsole and up through the cup holder.

Here's what I have within reach of me while driving:

Cupholder 1 - iPod cupholder thing
Cupholder 2 - drinks

little platform in front of transfer case lever - cellphone, remote controls (Kenwood DDX7017 remote and Audiovox XM remote)

drivers door -
top "pocket" (where you pull the door closes - various small change
middle "pocket" - knife
lower pocket - ziplock bag full of quarters

fabric pocket on side of passenger seat - XM channel guide, spare phone clip.

What model Sirius radio do you have? I have the Kenwood and it fits into the area below the radio unit. If you can, shoot a picture of your Sirius radio and we'll give you advice as my friend works for Sirius and can give you some pointers...........

Ditto. Nissan certainly has lots of places to put things now. Huge door pockets too with a built-in bottle holders, lots of places in the center console, dual glove boxes, overhead sunglasses holder, seat pockets, underfloor storage in the back along with rear side pockets... Nissan now gets an A+.

Hmm, nice mounts. I wonder if the one listed for 2002-2005 Xterra will actually fit the 2005. I need a mount for my 7" LCD display for the car computer.

I use a belt clip to clip my cellphone to the dash.

The piece on the right attaches with double-sided tape to the dash. The piece in the middle attaches to the back of my phone. It holds the phone well, is not distracting at all when I don't have the phone in place, and can probably be used on any device you want to attach to your dash.

Oh, they're about $4.95 at Walgreens . . .

I do agree that the X has lots of nooks/crannies/places to lose stuff. I do often! Just looking for an idea with the change. Thanks for the Mini - M&M idea. I'm gonna give that a try.

i keep my change in my ashtray..but just go buy one of those change holders at the dollar store and then go by an XM unit

WHY THE HECK DON'T I HAVE (3) CUPHOLDERS???? I have an 02' 5-speed and I only have two.....

My X dosen't have a ash tray or cigarette lighter,I'm not even sure if thats stcok equiptment anymore.

hmm... I am guessing this is only on the 03? Because I sure as hell never found 2 compartments on the armrest of my 00...

Probably started on the '02.

My 2001 had a single compartment in the console.
My 2003 has a main compartment in the console, and a secondary compartment in the console armrest.

That sounds like something I wish they would have kept in the 05.

hmmm.. sounds pretty cool. I wonder if the 02 + armrest lid would fit a 00. it just might...

anyone have both an 02/03 and a 00/01 they could swap armrest lids? (or at least look at them)

I've got plenty of room in mine. It's an '05. I love it because I actually got more space in mine then I did in my '03.

Get rid of your double din stereo, and put a single din. Then, use the cubbyhole attachment from a stereo mounting kit to put underneath the stereo. Now, you have an extra cubbyhole that's the size of a single din stereo head.

I use the small place on the armrest on the door for my change. The one beside the door lock and window buttons...perfect!

ALso..go to the drug store and ask for a couple of small pill bottles...Coins fit great in there and they fit in the that spot on the door arm rest.

Just get married. Not only will you mysteriously have no "spare change" left, but what spare change/cash you do have, you'll somehow figure out how to hide reeeeaallly well.

do what I use to do...just throw the chaneg on the floor . I now take the extra effort and reach back behind and dump the change in the back cup holders.

Don't need any change compartments.
SUNPASS owns me.
One thing I did notice, the center consile is three times smaller then the one in my mustang :c(

Disclaimer: I do not own an Xterra (YET!) so my information is based on past experience with other vehicles...

In regards to someone's comment about the change sliding around and eventually fallling out of the center console upper compartment. Perhaps try putting in some contact paper or that thin rubber stuff that you put inside of drawers and such to keep things in place. That may help. Plus you wont hear it bouncing around as much. Just a thought.
