Hey all,

just bought a 2006 4X4 OR 6SP Xterra in Night Armor a month ago. loving it so far, although i really haven't had a chance to take it off roading.

anyway, this morning something weird happened. as i was driving to work the ABS, SLIP and VDC lights came on. I pulled over, shut off the engine, turned it back on again and they went off. is this some kind of normal message or could it be something bad? thanks for your help.

This has happened to others. Do a search in the "Xterra-Next Generation" forum. smile

thanks guys.

found the thread

called a dealer (not where i bought it since i've moved) and they told me to bring it in on Monday (5 days from now) and that if it seems to be operating normally it's okay to drive. mentioned that this seems to be a problem on several xterras and they told me not to believe everything i read online. hope they're right.

Ohnooo.... You can believe everything you read here! [LOL]

OK ok, not EVERYTHING, but when it comes to troubleshooting and reporting of issues.... this is THE place. There's Nissan techs, former Nissan techs, mechanics, chiropracters, teachers, immigrants, PC techs, Microsoft Fan boys, kleptomaniacs, pyromaniacs, and last but not least, hypochondriacs.

(Oh and the all important POST POLICE!!!!!)

Welcome to XOC! [LOL] [LOL]

EDIT: A NEWB, who did his OWN SEARCH????? eek eek [Spit]

" (the dealership) told me not to believe everything i read online. hope they're right."

They got it backwards. It should be: Don't believe everything the dealerships tells you. The info you get on this board will usually be more accurate.

I could ramble on about all the times this board has been correct and the dealerships wrong, but I'll spare you all the long winded rambling.
