I bumped it to the top of my netflix queue, so I'll see it soon. Gotta get through Syriana, Happy Endings, and Miami Vice first (the ones I've got at home now).

Most people I have talked to or read their reviews say, although The Departed is very good, the original INFERNAL AFFAIRS is much much better.

Meh - I already have it at my house, so I may as well watch it.

It was alright. I didn't like Leonardo's shitty accent, or the ending. It seemed like they threw that last scene in there just to make audiences happy, which felt like a cop out in my option.

Watched it last night. One of the better movies I've seen in a long time. It was a rental, but I'll probably be buying it.

I bought the Special Edition just so I'd have one to watch when my original copy was loaned out.

I should have listened to you...

Since this thread now covers other movies, I'll post one of my favorite quotes of all time:

Quote:
Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday night. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

Ok...on to tv shows with the whole Irish thing.... Anyone seen previews for Black Donnellys? Wondering if it will be Hit or Dud

Re: Good Movie - 20/02/07 10:04 AM

I've always thought that many portrayals of Irish have largely centered around portraying most of them as "shanty Irish".

A pretty good Irish gangster movie was "State of Grace". It wasn't a really great movie, but it was fairly good and had it's moments.

It also definitely portrayed them as "shanty Irish".

HAHA....that's the best kind. If you ask for a beer / guiness in Ireland, the keeper will yell at you.... for not saying "give me a F'n guiness"
