mad Your like the fifth person to tell me that today alone. The reason I am getting married to this one is because I finally found someone I can share my life with who also hates everything and everybody..

What kind of thing do you like?

Looking for a beach (hawaii, jamaica, the keys, BVI etc)? Pine trees and snow (Canada)? Bright lights and gorgeous views sans snow? (Kalifornia) Night life and gambling (Vegas)? BBQ and cow shit? (Texas)

Dude, you have 597 posts and almost a year invested into this shithole and you're just now complaining? Come on!

In all seriousness, when you cheap, but not too cheap, what dollar range are we talking?

Re: On the honeymoon... - 17/10/07 05:29 AM

You can do a cruise for less than $1000. That's what wifey and I did for our honeymoon. We were on a tight budget and it worked out perfect.

ETA: I see you're in NJ...consider going to the Adirondacks. Beautiful in the Fall and you can probably find a B&B for a good price.

I've been here, very nice (if the Adirondacks are your thing)...

The Sagamore, Lake George

Re: On the honeymoon... - 17/10/07 07:06 AM

Wife just got back from a week in New York, the flight on US Airways was like $230 return. Bring her down to AZ and do the Grand Canyon, then over to Vegas before the flight home. 2 nights at Grand Canyon would set you back something like $400. Then depending on where you stay in Vegas, spending 4 or 5 nights there can range from $75 a night north strip to $300 a night South strip in the nicer hotels. So less than a $3k honeymoon + spending money.

Enjoy a day of skeeball on the boardwalk and a steamy night in a Motel 6.

Not that cheap?

gotta give us some ideas on what you want to do, what time of year, etc.

The Executive Inn on Route 1 in Rahway, NJ. [LOL]

All kidding aside, why don't you look into one of those 'Sandals Resorts'. You might be able to get a good deal.

She seems to be set on Vegas. She hates gambleing and If I see a blackjack table I'll be there the whole time. I'd like to do Colorado (maybe stay @ alpine's house) in the winter because that's my thing..however not hers. I like the adirondacks idea. I hate NY with a passion so I wouldn't go there (Live 30 mins away and used to live in Brooklyn and Staten Island). I'd like to keep it around 2000-3000 dollars since we have to furnish a brand new house and were both picky when it comes to that. She also promised me an ARB bumper for my wedding present so we don't want to dry up her funds either. A cruise would be nice if I could get a good one for around 2500 I'd like that since I've never been on one before (Never even been on a plane). The wedding is about this time next yr so the honeymoon could be any season since we don't have time to go right away since I'm WAY too busy w/ work. I like cold and she likes hot this is the only problem we face but since she has the vagina she typically wins.

Re: On the honeymoon... - 17/10/07 04:13 PM

I went to a Sandles in St. Lucia for our honeymoon two months ago. Nice, really liked it. Got upgraded upon arrival to a "homeymoon suite" with a private pool.

Everything is included, including the booze (they lost some money on that one), the food is good, beach awesome (I shit you not they raked the beach each morning), golf was nice, snorkeling was fun...

I would recommend Sandals to any couple (couples only) who want to get to tropical resort and literally not worry about a thing. Very relaxing. Price was high, but worth it.

I think it's going to be Explorer of the seas cruise leaving out of New Jersey (so I don't have to fly). It's 1150 per person which isnt too bad...anyone been on that one?

Let's see, honeymoon ideas for the misanthropic newly weds. How about Canada. There is plenty to hate there, and with good reason. I hear they stole our idea and now have a dollar that's actually worth a dollar. Bastards.

Check on em .... I know a couple people who have gone on cruises and they got sick of hearng announcements and quick ads over the speakers after 2 days. Read the reviews as well.

You lived on Staten Island?

Does that mean the Victory Motor Inn is not on the honeymoon list? [LOL]

It seems like you still have plenty of time to think about ideas. From your initial post, it sounded like you were looking for a place relatively quick.

If I were you, I would go to a warm place or wherever she wants to go. Why start off making a big deal about where you go on the honeymoon. Do what she wants. You'll still have fun and enjoy yourself.

Then later on, when you want to go on excursions into the mountains or whatever, she will be more agreeable to your ideas. At least she won't have any ammo to complain that you don't want to do things she wants to do. Start things right. Do what she wants to do. [Too much XOC]

For the money you are willing to spend, you could also get some great deals for a whole bunch of things as long as you buy early... and you have plenty of time.
