Guinness on sale!

Guinness on sale! - 19/03/03 04:21 PM

Since there seem to be a lot of Guinness fanatics here, thought I'd tip off all you fellow members of the cult... wink

If you've got Rite Aid stores in your area they have Guinness Draught 12 packs (bottles) for $10.99 this week. I don't think I've ever seen it any cheaper! Time to stock up!! [Spit]

If you don't know where a nearby Rite Aid might be, call 1-800-RITE-AID and they'll fill you in.

Edited to add: Sale's long over, but there is a lot of good info in the replies so I'll leave the thread here! [Wave]

Thanks for the tip, but don't see any stores in this area. The store locator shows the closest one is in GA. [Crybaby]

I have a little insight into that whole thing. I manage a bar, and speak with reps and sales people every day. It seems Guinness' 11oz bottles didnt go over to well. According to our rep Guinness will be getting rid of the bottles in some areas. It seems even with the masive advertising campaign they did, the 16oz cans still sell better.
The distributer here has sales on saturday mornings to the public of partial cases, mix match, make your own case. Any case is 10 bucks. I'm sure you can find the same deal in your area.

That's sad. They spent $13M developing that bottle and the rocket widget.

Tap is still the best, then the can, then the bottle.

All to true, at least the rocket widget bottle was better than the old style "flat" bottle. I couldn't stand the taste of that.

More Guinness fans??? I knew I'd find you if I just looked hard enough.

You're all right about that. The cans taste much better.

Although, widgets make good rear view mirror hangers. My wife accidentally dropped a bottle in the driveway [Crybaby] After I gave the broken glass a proper burial, I picked up the widget, cleaned it off, and drilled a hole in it. Now it swings from the mirror in my X. A fine tribute to a fallen soldier. wink

I always thought the bottles had a funny plastic after taste. Maybe it was all in my mind.
