Choking for air, fuel or something - 06/08/15 03:01 PM

Hi everybody. It's been a few years. Thanx always! My 2000 xterra will run normally, then all of the sudden starts bogging like its choking for air. The rpm's start to jump around. It can stall if sitting in traffic. Then it will go away and run normal. First I cleaned the battery connections. Then I changed the air filter and cleaned the air intake and mass air flow sensor. When it started choking again I thought it could only be the fuel filter. I changed it and it still starts choking. Oh, I also changed the spark plugs. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanx

Knock sensor gone bad? Search for the resistor mod - if you don't have a supercharger the knock sensor really isn't needed and it fails often and is in a horrible place to change.

That sounds more like a distributor going out to me...
