I have a borla cat back exhaust, sounds pretty decent and installation takes less than an hour with air tools. I've been happy with it for two years now.

I have a Dynomax Turbo too hahaha...
It doesn't sound loud at idle but @ open throttle or freeway-pulling speed you can hear it.
I have calmini mandrel bent 2.25" pipes on my Xterra with a flowmaster 40 series. LOVE IT! Not to much..........but definately not to little. Granted it isn't a dual exhaust Silverado V-8 but it sounds pretty nice on acceleration or low end torque work. I also added the K&N FIPK and that has helped with growl as well.
I had the Dynomax Turbo muffler originally with my Calmini system....switched it out for a Flowmaster and have never looked back. You wont be dissapointed.

I have the calmini. It's very quiet, and not very noticable IMO. I have a borla muffler from a subaru catback that I'll have welded on once the cheap calmini rusts off. I'm sure that'll sound much nicer. I love the way borla's sound.

Don't forget to compliment your exhaust with an air intake. I have an Airaid intake system installed, but if i could i would switch to a Volant intake system. A K&N system is also available for the xterra. Hope this helps.
