Car Show in the spring

Car Show in the spring - 03/01/04 07:55 PM

Just a curious thought...

Who would be interested in entering their trucks with me into a car show in the spring time?

Which one? I have no idea yet. Where? Probably DFW (as that is where I live). Why? Why not?

We could show off our trucks in all sorts of fashions: Frontiers/Pathys to Xs, 4x2 to 4x4, stockies to higly modified, clean to super dirty.

Just probing all of your minds for interest as of right now...

AverysX is in.

I'd be up for it. My fiance's dad goes to all sorts of shows so I'll see what I can find out. Lets all get together and do this for the ol' gipper (or Scott whichever you prefer)!!!!

Would we be like the rough-necks of the show? Function of form types? or this is what is really useful offroad (for the ones showing offroad Nissans) type of thing?? if so I am in

I am always up for a car show. My xterra is pretty much just for show anyway. wink I could be in the super clean, bling bling category.

As usual for me, it will depend on when and how it fits within other schedules.

Ok. It is good to see there is interest in this. I'll propose dates, and all the nitty gritty once I get this Poker Run stuff finished. smile For now, I have been researching auto/truck/auto&truck shows in the DFW area just so you know where we are probably going to partake in one. (That is of course unless someone in the Hill Country or Houston Metro chapters step up to plan one in their area. smile )

Our Club and it's trucks stood out at the Lap around Dallas event. It was fun and we showed our stuff with all the Porche's Vettes and such.

I think it's a good idea if we can get it going.

I might even clean and wax mine smile

I have a better idea for you Roger....

As you have two bike racks up top....

Go muddin' and get your truck all dirty. Clean only one side. On the clean side, we put a 10 speed street bike up top, the dirty side gets a mountain bike...

Yes/no? smile

Hey, let me know if you guys need some help. This does sound cool and 4x2 friendly. I work a rotating schedule at work so I'm frequently off during the week when noone else is. laugh

What we will probably end up doing is more than just bikes. I want to do a dirty/rugged side of the truck with a clean/stock side. The rugged side will have camping gear in half the Load Warrior, seat covers and Raingler nets suspended on that half only inside. The 'stock' inside is going to be all purty with no covers and netting.

Now I just need to find us a car/truck show... smile

I will just get mine clean, do a poser flex on the curb or a light pole or something and have the rear hatch open with it full of grocerys

Tracey - Would you mind leaving your truck at an auto show (that has security) for 4-5 days?

Re: Car Show in the spring - 08/01/04 07:42 PM

The only problem I have with that show is there are only two shows a year I have to go to in order to keep my sponsorship. One of them is on that weekend in Padre. If something happens and I do not have to go, my best friend lives in Little Elm and I would not have a problem leaving my truck there....that's what insurance is for smile

Which weekends are you discussing? We are looking at 3/3 - 3/7. Drop the truck off on the 2nd (to setup) and pick up at night on the 7th. Email me and I can give you further details.

Re: Car Show in the spring - 09/01/04 05:47 AM

Anyone else able to leave their truck at a show for 4-5 days? FWIW - We are looking at finding one day shows were everyone can join in; especially if the X is your daily driver.

The current auto show being looked at is the 2004 Auto Show Charity Roundup. It takes place in conjunction with the big Dallas Auto Show (where all the manufacutrers show off their new models for the year). Lots of exposure, great opportuntiy for the club. If you are interested in dropping off the ol vehicle for a few days, email me, and I can tell ya more.

Oh, Tracey, sent you an email...

My truck is far from show quality but i can leave it for 4-5 days. It's still almost 100% stock on the inside.
