Keith was putting together a run for February 28 to test his home mods.

MARCH 27th we are planning on hitting Barnwell with the guys from Mehico. This is not set in stone as of yet, but it is looking promising.

I'm planning on going that last weekend of March, whether the Hermanos from Mehico can go or no.

Couple of other people over on TNT expressed interest in that weekend.

It's been too long. I'd like to go, but won't know if I can until closer to time. That's in between Chia's bachelor party and wedding, so we'll see.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 16/03/04 06:19 AM

Sorry guys, I can´t make it by the time.

Guys here either, we are having a lot of 4WD activities: something called "the route of volcanoes" , wheeling 4 days in central México, competitions in several cities, a jeep meeting in Cancun by the time of GONEMoab, etc, etc.

In fact, this june 12 & 13 we´ll have the 3th stage of a 4x4 competition in Laredo, Texas smile

Re: barnwell march 27 - 18/03/04 01:27 PM

where is it from the austin area.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 18/03/04 01:37 PM

It is in Gilmer, Texas.... over by Tyler.
Here\'s their page

Just do a Yahoo Maps driving directions thing to figure out time / route.

It takes me 2.5 hours from NE Dallas - so it is a hike from Austin - but it's a ton of fun and worth the trip.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 18/03/04 02:50 PM

Is this a weekend trip or a saterday or sunday? It sounds like a blast.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 18/03/04 03:17 PM

It always ends up being a weekend trip. Those from Austin, SA, Houston and further out usually come up Friday and camp until Sunday morning. DFW-ites usually go up Friday night or early Saturday morning; some camp, some don't. There are always people camping on Saturday though.

Oh, normally (just about always) SOMEONE comes up from Austin, so you have the possibility of caravaning with others for your haul.

Once you are there, you won't wanna come home on the same day. Tons of fun. You'll want to spend the night.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 19/03/04 11:18 PM

Re: barnwell march 27 - 22/03/04 10:07 PM

Looks like another Barnwell trip I'm going to miss.

It turns out we don't have a soccer game this weekend, since it is the Spring Webelos campout, and I got the games scheduled around it. This time however William doesn't want to go since no one else in his den is going (they've all meet their camping requirements for Arrow of Light), and he has his first Boy Scout campout in 3 or 4 weeks (Mid April), so we're all going to load up into the Odessy and take a long day trip to Rusk (a little south of Barnwell), and take a Steam Engine Train ride - The Texas State Railroad, one of the Texas State Park facilities. The best times for the trip are supposed to be in the Spring when the dogwoods are blooming, which is right now. Since we probably won't have another opportunity this Spring we're going to jump on it now.

Y'all have fun.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 24/03/04 06:58 AM

Who is going to be at Barnwell, and what day you getting there? We have a first timer coming from Oooooooooklahoma, and he needs someone to meet up with in Gilmer. He will be arriving Friday night, so Jason, would you be willing to be our good will ambassador?

If so, what time Friday night and/or Saturday morning would you be willing to meet him at the front gate of Barnwell?

Whoever can meet him, please let me know ASAP

thx,

Re: barnwell march 27 - 24/03/04 08:12 AM

I'd be willing to meet up with him, just need to know where and when. I would give him my cell number, but I never get reception out there. Does he have a CB or FRS? If he can make it out there, I can meet with him at the main office.

Email me your phone number anyhow, and I will pass it along. What time can you meet him on both Firday night and Sat morning? (JIC he does not make it Friday night.)

You know my phone number, you've called me in the past. I have no idea what time we will get there Friday night. I plan to leave town by 5 at the latest on Friday, but you know how that goes.

What's this we crap, Kraig? You aren't going, are ya? [Finger]

I've got a Coleman combo grill/burner. One burner and then a small grill off to the side. Not as good as goofies or 2001frontier's, but all I got.

Re: barnwell march 27 - 24/03/04 02:51 PM

I'm super depressed that I won't be able to bring the motorcycle and ride it some... I've been working my ass off trying to get it ready - but it looks like the CDI module is flaky & it's probably going to take me weeks of ebay-ing to find another one frown [Crybaby]

Re: barnwell march 27 - 26/03/04 07:15 AM

Scott, you and Zach need to spend the night.

Looks like I won't be leaving Big D until 6 at the earliest. Misty has to drop off the kids before we can head out, but we'll be there ASAP.
