off topic: S. Padre lodging recommendations?

Anybody ever spent a night down on South Padre Island? Can you recommend a NICE place to stay, a little on the swanky side, with ocean views?

I'm going nuts trying to find some info on the Web about where to stay down there in a couple of weeks. I'm finding very little useful info, especially ratings. I don't want to end up in a rat trap.

Every time I've gone, I've slept on the beach. I did go once and stay at the Holiday Inn (I think it was the Holiday Inn, I was drunk most of the time) Really this time of year, you don't need to worry much. You could probably just drive down there and pick a hotel at random. It's just Spring Break that they are packed. And actually, the time I stayed at the hotel, I didn't get the room till I was there.
