Quarterly Meeting - CANCELLED

Mark your calendars! The next quarterly meeting has been tentativley scheduled for September 25, 2004 to be held at Spring Creek OHV/ATV park in Houston. Details to follow as they come.

Here is the current plan for the meeting.

We are definitely holding it at Spring Creek ATV/OHV Park in Houston on September 25, 2004 starting around 2PM. Some people have said they want to camp out Saturday night; anyone is welcome to join in that. This park, and the camping is 4x2 friendly, so all ya '2-wheelers' come on out!

Also, Jim Shrake from Shrockworks is going to come join us at our meeting to talk shop, show stuff off and whatnot. He will be offering 15% off his products ordered at the meeting, and he has also graciously extended us 15% off products ordered BEFORE the meeting provided you are in attendance to pick them up. Just think, 15% off and no shipping to worry about if you order before hand. Pre-orders should be done ASAP as he has to make what you want.

So, see you on the 25th!

damn and I just got my sliders. I'm still waiting on a rear bumper with corner protection.

Oh yeah, we are also raffling off a $100 gift certificate from Shrockworks...

I'm planning on coming. How many others typically come to these things? How many are coming to this one?

How many others come? It varies; seriously. A good guess would be 5-20. Sometime lots of people say they are coming, and do. Other times, lots of people say they are coming, and don't. Look at it this way, if more come, you get to meet a ton of people; if less come, you have a better chance of winning the $100 from Shrock Works. Either way, we are gonna do some wheelin' and camping after the meeting. Oh yeah, if this is your first time, you also have to deal with me giving you a package of 'stuff' from various vendors.

I am going. My son will be there. My 'other' may be there too.

this will be my first swxc meeting. where in houston is this off road park? it's sad to say i live in houston and have not been there or heard of it for that matter.

It is off hwy 45 N. about 5 mins or so from the Woodlands, TX. You can get directions at springcreekatvpark.com. I've been out there before and its cool. No rocks or anything like that, but lots of sand creek crossings. Not bad for being only 30 mins from down town H-town.

Oh whats the plan for lunch on that day, are we going to BBQ or are there other plans?

The club is going to provide burgers and dogs (plus buns) for the meeting iteself. BYO-Drink.

I have a 40 series flowmaster and will be at the meeting. And it only costs 5.25 a minute to here it. J/J... Looking foward to meeting fellow Xers

Due to Ivan deciding to reappear, the quarterly meeting is CANCELLED. 60-70 mph winds and rain do not really work well with an outdoor bbq/camp-out/meeting/wheelin' thing-a-ma-joo.

We are also not rescheduling, or moving the location, as time is just too short.

Rudy, I appreciate all the effort you put into this and whatnot. We will definately hit Spring Creek for our next meeting.

If you have any questions, concerns, or need some loving comfort getting through this, let me know.

Oh, in case you need plans for this weekend, the Z club is going to the drive in movies at Brazos (Spidy Man 2 is playing) on Saturday, and I am going to the Texas State Fair then too.

Hey no sweat, but it is kinda of a bummer. It would really suck if Ivan dies out by Sat. or doesn't even come to Houston. Now that the meeting has been cancelled it will probably die out, but if we kept our plans the storm would strengthen and come directly to us. Oh well

Scott I got your message, no problem, glad to help out anyway I could. It would be cool if the next meeting would be scheduled for Houston that way we don't get skipped all together.

Go figure. But as you said, had we not cancelled it, Houston would be getting slammed for the next few days.

Oh well, I can control some things (the ebb and flow of the tide, the drift of the continents, the exact position of the sun along it's ecliptic), but not the weather.

But thats okay, regarding the flows. My friend told me of a shop in Houston, that I plan to go to, I'm gonna try magnaflows on. I also plan to go to the flea market and get my X an InSaNe SyStEm. Or atlest an InSaNe SuBwOoFeR & AmP. And just because I can make every other letter capitalized I'm getting a discount.

Anyway, when are we having the next meeting? Now I really want to attend something! I went offroading yesterday! For the first time! HOLY CRAP! the X is friggin amazing at offroading! I was extremely impressed! I also get a discount for exclamation marks! But seriously, when is the next meeting, anybody know?

Careful though (both with what you do and what you say about it)... a lot of folks on here take great offense at illegal offroading. It makes us all look bad and can get the few places where it IS legal closed down.

i didn't know that it is illegal? And I'm being serious. I thought that since it's public property, because its a section of the highway, that you can publicly do whatever unless what you are doing can harm others. But thanks for telling me that it is, because my friends were just as clueless
