Re: Major Den run on the 2nd - 30/12/04 03:39 PM

I think everyone's meeting at either Whataburger or Wicked around 10. I maaaaay have to do something that morning but that's at like 8 or so and should be there with no problems.

Talk is it's gonna be big with a BBQ (meeeybe).

horns, from I-35 and 410, go west on 410. exit ingram rd. right on ingram rd. whataburger on right side.

wouldn't mind meeting at whataburger before run for food. wife would be happy that i took her out to eat.... [Freak] [Argue]

let me know.

edit: news says rain sunday, but i have a better chance with the olsen twins then they have at correctly predicting the weather.

Hey Horns, if you don't feel comfortable taking your X out there...you can leave your X at Whataburger and ride with me, I'm usually solo when I go out there...It's up to you...

Re: Major Den run on the 2nd - 31/12/04 07:01 AM

Baaah, we'll take Horns' X to Wicked and leave it there.

Food sounds fine.

As for the weather, when was the last time the weatherman got it right on the money? Whenever they predict rain we usually have a great partly cloudy day.

I am down to go this time

but like horns-i am a 4x2 as well so I am not quite sure about heading in but maybe there will be others riding solo but if not I still wanna check out some rigs.

Wicked did my shackles and t-bar crank about 2 weeks ago.

If you see me out there come say what's up I will be in the pewter x with the wicked offroad decal in the back.

Dirt Guy

I remember this spot, but I remember it being a bigger pain in the butt because there was a tree really close on the other side

Re: Major Den run on the 2nd - 03/01/05 10:21 PM

Yeah the tree is still there but for some reason doesn't look like it in that picture... [Smoking]

yeah...it was very slippery out there after some rain came down...Patrick had to pull this one bronco out that was slipping down a ridge...I think a little bit more and he would have gone down that ridge...

Man Rick! You seriously should've seen how close that tire was to sliding into off the ledge! Another four inches (easy to do in that snot-slick mud) and he would've rolled. At the least just onto the side.

Yeah...That's part of my fear when Wheeling out there when it just rained or raining...I think of it as Ice...sometimes you have no control of your vehicle, it's just sliding every which way...scary stuff...I kinda like Rock instead...

Hey Patrick...We may have another Offroader added to our Excursions...some new guy who just started working with us,has a pretty nice looking Jeep, and is looking for some places to go...I told him to Join us when we go to The Den...

Re: Major Den run on the 2nd - 09/01/05 06:19 PM

now that i've washed the truck, vacuumed, cleaned, and did windows, it is now time to get it dirty again. how about the 16 or 23rd? my boss is lenient since the den is closer than barnwell, cheaper, and doesn't require a vacation day (since work sats). hopefully some austin folk make it down.

Yes I had a fantastic time. Wanted to say thanks to everyone for the help in spotting me over some of the obsticles. I'm still new to the off road game but with all the experience from the others they made me feel like it was nothing.

I certainly had a blast. Though I would like a bit more work under the X before I go through that rock bed again shocked

I think you did great Jason, even with a Stocked X...I felt you were a little uncomfortable at times with the Rock stuff, hey so was I, but we had alot of experienced guys out there that know the Terrain pretty good, so that kind of eased my tensions a little...hey, Jason...do the "Poor man's Lift" for now, that's what I did...some Rear Shackles in the back, and some cranked-up T-bars and take off your Rear Sway-Bars, and you will be surprized how much clearance and Articulation you will have...Patrick helped me with the Schackles and the T-bar twist...maybe he can help you out...
