Parking in Austin for ACL

Parking in Austin for ACL - 17/08/09 07:52 PM

Hey,
I am trying to find somewhere that I can park my Xterra with a rooftop tent while I am in Austin for ACL in about 6 weeks.

I could stay at an RV park, but it is pretty far south and I do not want to have to drive the truck each day.

Any suggestions, or people with property where I could park for a few days? I'd pay the RV rate if someone has a place from where I could catch a bus to Ziker Park. I would love to have access to an electrical outlet to run a fan and keep my refrigerator running during the day.

Yeah, I have not been around XOC in a looonnnggg time.

We dont have much in the way of RV Parks that have easy access to downtown. I dont think any of them are on the bus routes or near. You can try Pecan Grove it is on Barton Springs and you could walk to zilker park from there

Roger,
I've got reservations on the south side of town, I'll know more about my timeline closer to the festival. There is a bus 1L/1M that runs nearby, my guess is that I could find someone else driving closer to the festival. The Pecan place was booked, so I'm out towards the boonies. Hey, I don't mind as long as I get to enjoy the festival. I visited Austin last summer and am looking forward to seeing things again.

Todd, I hope you have tickets already... news this morning said they are already sold out!

Please shout if you need and I can do anything to help!

I'm on the far north end of town - so staying here probably wouldn't do you much good - but if the weather turns ugly or something and you need some local help or a place to take a shower or whatever let me know.

Glen, thanks for the offer. The rooftop tent went through a pretty wicked storm in Tennessee in June. I am hoping that it is a weekend of good warm, not hot, weather to relax listening to music.
