Posting an Avatar ???

I've tried a few times to upload an Avatar, but have not been successful. Can anyone give me step-by-step instructions?

I still have yet to create that folder to allow people to upload one directly to the site.

So until I have that set up any avatar that you want will have to be hosted elsewhere.
