Blocking a user?

Is there a way to block a user from posting? As a mod, I can delete/move/change threads, but not individual posts. We all know I've deleted many spam threads in the past (I personally enjoyed deleting the ones about the UGG boots!). BUT, there's nothing that can be done to an individual post inside a thread. There is a user (wowlijetgold) that just joined and is posting irrevelent crap to threads, trying to give us "wisdom".

So my question is, can s/he either be blocked as a spam poster, or can the threads be modified to remove his/her irrevelent posts? I'd be happy to do it if there was a way to do so!

Just go ahead and ban them already,,, bring on the ban hammer,,,

If I were a mod here again...I'd ban and delete the bogus posts/posters. Currently, I just click "Notify" for each offending post, and hope a ban hammer comes over and bans and deletes as appropriate.

And that's my point. I'm a global mod, not an admin. I don't have a ban hammer!

OK, I can now delete posts, but, don't know how to BAN yet.



Ban Hammer tutorial?

TJ - You're a global mod now. Global mods' names are blue, admins are red. We can globally move/delete threads. We don't have a ban hammer. Only admins get that.

Ban-Hammer bravebaobao and take mmodeal with him! Spammers! Both of them!

(Since I don't have a BanHammer and I can't edit threads!)

I deleted two threads from mmodeal and bravebaobao is adding junk to valid threads...

I deleted threads after doing "notify"...but wish the spammers could be banned too....oh well.

So that's why the link in the emails I get don't work. That makes sense.
