auto trans failure

when cold, my 2000 (95000 miles) has been very slow to shift out of first gear. sometimes you need to let up on the accellerator to get it to shift. today when cold it actually locked up and stalled the engine, then after a warm up it was ok to drive. has any one else had similar problems.

Hows the tranny fluid and when was the last time you had it changed/flushed?

yep, i have. i just took it in before lunch to the tranny shop. got a call back and they said the fluid was really nasty and sticky/thick. it also had pieces of brass and metal in the pan when they pulled it. i have 93k on my X. its probably time for a fluid change.
