does anyone happen to know what size gear is in the rear end of a 2002 xe 4x4 auto? id appreciate any input

ok i see it. but i would have never thought the X was geared so low. my boss has 4.11 gears in his rear end in a built 67 camaro and it picks the front tires off the ground. well maybe it was done to make the X feel as if it has some power. i know it is low in horses but it feels pretty strong out of the hole for a fairly heavy suv. and it does rev pretty high above 60 mph. thanks for the help guys.

The statement you just made should make you believe it better. Put the 4.11 gearing in and see if you can even go 60mph while towing.

While the gear ratios may be the same, the larger diameter tires on the X make a big difference vs. the tires on the Camaro. The X tire travels further for every revolution.

You also have to consider the transmission gearing. That has a lot to do with why our trucks have such tall gears.
