Squealing front end! - 26/08/03 11:59 PM

I had an oil change done by the dealer and the said they checked the breaks and they look good. Well that day when i got home everytime i would turn the wheel to the left almost to the point it hits the stop it would make a squeal, the metal on metal squeal, so i call the took it back up there. They said the greased the stearing stops and said i was good. Took off on my road trip the next, about 1500 miles, it started to do it again but this time when i turned the wheel left and right.

Anyone know what it could be????????

Might be that the steering stops have lost their grease already. Real fix is new plastic caps for them instead.

ButterBean,
Are you hearing the noise when you turn the steering wheel or when the wheel is at full lock and the steering stops are touching? If the latter, Brent's suggestion seems in order. If the former, what is the condition of your power steering system? Are you sure it's not the PS belt that's squealing? How is the PS fluid level?
What does the PS belt look like?

Are the stops posed to look like this?
