I SUZU TROOPER - 01/01/07 06:12 AM

Hello Happy New Year to all. After a long search for a 2000-2001 xterra in a 5 speed I gave up.During my long search I came across a super clean 1994 Isuzu Trooper with 116000 miles, with a 3.2 SOHC engine. I know there are a lot of people with extensive mechanical info here so thats why Im posting my question here.I wanted o know if the timing belt breaks will it bend the valves?I always have owned Nissan and I knew that if the belt snapped that was it.This Isuzu I am geetting a lot of mixed info.If anyone knows with certainty please advise. Thanks

They do/did make Nissan motors that were non-interferance designs so that should the timing belt let go it wouldn't destroy the motor.

No clue on your Trooper, though, I would call an
Isuzu dealer and ask them if your motor is a non-interferance motor or not...we may be technically inclined here, but it's usually more with regards to the Xterra.

The other route to go would be to find an Isuzu/Trooper forum as well [Wave]
