How many bolts hold the ring gear on an R200 diff?

10 or 8?

need to figure this out, who has the service manual?

The ESM and parts-system diagrams both show 8 but I think they're somwhat generic diagrams. When you pull up the part listing in the parts-system software it says there are 10 per vehicle. All the photos I've found of R200 carriers show 10 holes as well, though none are from front applications. I'd go with 10.

From looking into LSD's or lockers for the R200 there was a change at some point. I think older models had 8 and newer ones have 10. I've got my old one sitting in the garage, I can check it tonight to make sure.

Steve, sure you're not thinking about the change from 10mm to 12mm ring gear bolts?

Yep your right. I'll go ahead and count my old ones tonight.

It's got 10 bolts. This is from counting the original diff that came out for the Calmini LSD.
