If you have an 04' X in 4wd-5speed, what is you're rpm at 55mph?? Just wondering because most of the other members here with older X's in 4wd/5speed has different rpms at the same mph...Don't know if nissan has changed the gear ratio's a bit for the 04's.

My 04 5spd 4WD runs approx 2400 @ 55mph
2800 @ 60mph

55mph in 4th is about 3000rpm, 2500rpm when I drop it down to 5th.

Axle ratios went from 4.636 to 4.900 for the 2002+ models.

no wonder other members here have claimed 65mph@2500rpm...wonder why they changed it...maybe to improve accelleration in 5th gear but I still think a 6speed is the better opt. for better mpg/highway-hill accelleration.

Would there be anyway that I can change my Rear Gear ratio from 4.9 to 4.6? Id rather have the top end instead of the low end. I have an 04 5sp X
