3.5L 240 HP Xterra - 21/08/03 05:32 AM

Just ran into this 3.5L Pathy engine on e-bay and remembered that Calmini had dropped on in their project vehicle. The X would be one sweet machine with that engine, plus have all the unique styling we've all grown to love. Does anyone know someone at Calmini, or know what was involved with the changeout? This solution seems like a much more permanent solution than any bolt-on "performance enhancing" trinket.

Calmini didn't build that Xterra, they just got their name prominently on the side since they supplied several bits for it (bumper, t-case gears, etc.) It was built by Nissan's R&D folks and was a pretty complicated project. You would have to dump quite a bit of money into duplicating just the engine swap alone.

CALMINI did help build it. They got a small sticker on the side for a ton of work. The 'bits' included front and rear custom bumpers, integrated air tank, skid plates, lift, transfer case gearing. They spent a lot of hours helping Nissan put Project-X together.

The Pathy motor had to by hooked up to an Infiniti transmission and tranfer case, so you'd need that too.
