Water outlet replacement 2001 Xterra - 08/09/12 11:21 AM

Hi all,

I am new to the forum.

I am in the process of replacing the water outlet on my 2001 Xterra (3.3 l vg33e engine). I now have all the parts holding the outlet in place (3 bolts, hoses, wire bracket on top) off but can't get it out. There seems to be a metal (silver coloured)line that seems to originate from the fuel injectors and loops around behind the outlet and goes to the engine. This part is blocking my removal of the outlet. Anyone done this repair and how to make enough room to get the outlet out and the new one in?

Thanks to anyone who replies.

I guess you are doing the fiber gasket thing as recommended in that bulletin?
I did mine when I did the timing belt.
But I'm pretty sure you have to take the rad. and timing belt cover off to pull that part.
When you get it all apart, re-seal everything in the area, as it is a problem area for leaks....have you done your timing belt???
If not get it all done together.

If your X is not an SC model you dont have to worry about the KS code
