*Poll* Decals On Roof Rack - Coming Off?

This poll has two parts.
Have the decals (Xterra logo) or some portion come off?
Yes or No

If Yes, what did you do?
Have the dealer fix it.
Take the rest off yourself.
Left it alone - could care less.

just a point, i tried to vote, if your answer is no to the first question shouldnt there be a n/a answer to the second question so that vote can be registered, or else people will either a) not be able to vote or b) pick (dont care) and the stats will be untrue.... just fyi

Thanks, I discovered that later on. Don't think the poll software or my application of it allows for a link between the questions.

Mine has lost a few bits, but that's from pressure washing mud off... :-D

I'll eventually take it all off, and/or paint the tubing. I doubt I'd spend any money on the stickers to replace them, since they obviously don't last. They're just a dumb idea.

How is it only 4 that have voted, have them coming off, but 32 have answered the what did you do question?

You cant finish the poll without voting in both questions... so I voted what I would have done.

My decal started coming off before it left the dealer's lot.

Considering my dealer cannot fix ANYTHING (Mossy Nissan, El Cajon... monkeys with hammers ), I removed the rest of the decal myself...

The Xterra is pretty distinctive... Most people can figure out it is an Xterra without a sign.

My Xterra is only a couple of weeks old, but I had already thought about what if that sticker came off. I am thinking about spraying some clear acrylic over it and hope for the best. Does it usually start cracking, or start peeling ?

The decals partially came off about 2 days after I took possesion of the X. Took all of 1 minute to remove the rest..looks fine without, hell my truck does not say Xterra anywhere.

I've had my X since August '99 and my decals are perfectly intact. (in tact?)

I don't go offroading though, so maybe that makes a difference?

Not really.. Staubers lost his and he hasn't really wheeled with his X either..

I've had mine for two years now( ) and it's still in perfect condition..

My decals started flaking after two or three months. I recently took my xterra into the dealership and they told me that "every single xterra that has come in has the same problem". They have new decals that look the same but are supposedly improved. They fixed them right there and I havent had a problem since.

I'm with Tats... It's been close to two years and they're still in prime condition!

Yup--my decals began flaking off two weeks after buying my X--I just took the rest of the decal off on both sides and I like the way it looks this way better.

My decals started flaking after a couple months. A friend and I took them off one day, and I think it looks better without them.

Also took off the crossbars. So now I just have the rails running the length of my roof. It's kind of grown on me . . .

Mine are history, as of two days ago. Looks fine without.

My stickers were fine after about 15 months, then I decided to paint my rack charcoal...I painted the rack with the stickers on there, then removed the stickers. I like the reverse effect.

Xterraparts.com they are only like $6 a peice so if one comes off order a new one you will probably be able to see where the old one was by some residue left over and just place the new one on.

I peeled and sanded mine off! My truck now only says "XTERRA" in two places; on the spare tire cover and on the back window (PNWX sticker).

I prefer the clean look. I also painted my roofrack, both bumpers, and my sliders with Black Hammerite so everything matches. They call me the rattle can King!

I still have mine on...and looks great...even with some branching rubbing rides,I haven't seen any peeling or scratching off of the stickers...I would probably replace them if they begin to peel off....I think they just add more to the "KICK ASS" Xterra look...

So far so good after 3 years and plenty of branches dragging down the roof...

Flaked the third time, I peeled them off.

NOW, even the powder coating silver-flake is coming off to reveal the smooth aluminum tubing underneath. What's the deal with that? Its got to have something to do with the weather.

Actually the decals on both sides have started coming off. But it doesn't bother me because it's formed a cool little design.

After 2.5 yrs, the stickers on my roof rack is still intact but if ever they come off completely, I'll just leave it as is. It's not like I need to be reminded on every side of the truck that its an Xterra. I'm not forgetful.
