Custom Look - 24/03/04 05:23 AM

Right now I have done about everything I can do to my X. However I wanna have more of a custom look, is there anything not to expensive I can do to give my X that custom look. Ex... painting, replacing parts, etc...?

You have done "everything you can"? What's that include? Tell us what you got, and we'll tell you what you need...

Since you have the 4x2 I recommend those chrome wheels that have the separate hubcap piece that spins independant of the wheel.

Yeah, that's a "custom" look, just like every other "custom" SUV out there...

Doesn't look like he's into the bling/rice thing from his site, that's a good thing!

Ah... I just posted those pics to mess with another member...
Cory, judging by your site, your mods include:

K&N offroad Air Charger (intake)
31' BFG A/Ts
1 inch Torsion Crank on front
Brush Gaurd
Nokyia Headlights
Clear Corners
New Front Mud Gaurds
Hella 500's (on brushguard)
Tint
Taillight Gaurds

Right off the top of my head, I would say to add SLR 2" shackles for $50, a couple of XOC stickers ($5 if you can find them), stickers from the manufacturers of your mods (may not sound like it, but they make your truck look tougher wink )... aftermarket wheels always add to the look... you can pick up a set of black Rockcrawlers or 767s for less than $40 each... just be sure to get the correct backspacing... or you could save up and pick up an ARB winch bumper... about $700 new, or you can search around and probably find a used one for $400 or less... Just a few ideas...

Re: Custom Look - 24/03/04 11:20 PM

Why the need for stickers? *shrugs*

Wanting to customize your ride is cool, but by putting too many stickers onto it and slapping on every SUV accessory can get a little tacky and cheap-looking (ie, tailight guards+lights+grille+mudflaps+hatch ladder+etc, etc). That is, unless you have a nice layer of mud to prove it.

Save up and get a nice sound system. That way you and your passengers will enjoy riding in it, that's what matters who cares what other people see. The Xterra is fine looking as it is, you'll hear about people here getting compliments while completely stock.

Re: Custom Look - 25/03/04 03:29 AM

Let's see if I understand. You pay the going price for a product. Then you put a sticker on your vehicle and advertise the manufacturer/product for *free*! What if the product fails - still gonna advertise it?
Sounds like the truck version of the children in their hondumbs.
I thought most/all people would rather avoid advertising/spam/junk mail.

Don't be an ass. You asked for suggestions on a custom look. I guarantee a wood paneled wagon wheeled Xterra is the most unique look you could ever go for. Try it, see if you look like anybody else on the planet. Those people across the street laughing? They're just nervously hiding their shame for not being first to market with this fantastic mod.
