Clunk/ Bang after driving

Clunk/ Bang after driving - 11/12/05 12:13 PM

After starting the X and driving a few feet i hear a bang from the underside. sonds like something is hitting the exhaust or something is loose in the suspension.
it is usally worse while turning. usually only happens once

i also have another concern that the oil pressure gauge fluctuates alot on this thing after it warms up. it usually drops down at idle and when i use something electrical like turning on the headlights.
i realize oil pressure gauges are supposed to fluctuate but this seems like more than most other engines

are you in 4x4 when this noise happens??? eek

The oil pressure thing is normal. Though I think it may be your imagination that it changes based on electrical accessories. It should move dependant on rpm only.

2wd

im not imagining it believe it or not. sitting at hot idle turning the headlights on or off makes the pressure guage fluctuate for a second, but it returns to normal

See the other thread. It's the anti-lock calabrating. Normal, and okay.

yeah, a quick search will turn up that it's your ABS testing it's self. It's also in the manual.
