Airbag Disengage Switch

Airbag Disengage Switch - 23/01/06 08:29 AM

Is there a way to disengage the airbags on an 06? I'm worried that when I go off roading, I'll start to tip (or tip over) and all the airbags will blow, costing more $ than necessary. I know I've seen disengage switches in some cars' gloveboxes...

This has been discussed before. Well if you are tipping over I think Airbags will be the least of your worries.

But the front bags won't go off if you are rolling over.

Couldn't find it in a search.

I have the side airbag package and I don't want them all blowing if I'm tipping over at a snail's pace. I'f I'm rolling at 90 on the highway, that's a different story...

Hmmm. Not sure then. You need to ask someone who has the shop manual.

Anyway I see you are Upstate NY come check out the Upstate New York Xterra club.

If you roll over sideways, again, the airbags going off will be the least of your worries. Either way, even if it's a slow roll, and you'll likely cause enough damage to total the vehicle.

Haven't had a chance to check it out in detail yet, but I've been hosed by airbags twice and might consider it...
