ABLS and Rear Locker - 17/11/05 03:53 PM
Does the computer turn off the ABLS when I engage the rear locker? It seems to me it does turn off since my ABS light comes on when I lock the rear(this is normal, I looked it up in the manual)
. I did a search on the subject and found several people have asked the question but I could not find an answer.
Thanks

The ABLS system is not the same as the ABS system although they use similar components. People get confused about this all the time.
When you use your e-locker the ABS (antilock braking system) is disabled. Obviously the ABLS system is worthless in the rear since the rear is locked but the ABLS system still functions on the front axle to try and limit wheel spin.

ABLS on the front + locked rear= a trick ass hill climbing setup. not quite a rubicon, but then again, it's not quite a rubicon on the street either (way quicker/ quieter).
it makes a little noise.
