Power Socket Mod - 08/01/01 05:54 AM

Tried to get the the relay and wires for the "always on" mod, took off all dash pieces concerned to get to it, but what it the trick to pull out the socket and the relay. Saw 2 clips on the side of the socket, couldn't pull it down. The relay is on a metal sleeve, but couldn't that off either. Any tricks or just more force needed ?

There is a locking tab on the plastic relay that prevents the relay from sliping off the metal tongue. Use a small screwdriver between the relay and metal tongue to release the locking tab. You can access all these parts by reaching under the dash without removing any part of the dash panel.

Thanks, just couldn't see the locking tab. I tried to get to it without taking taking the lower dash trim off, but just couldn't get to it.

BTW.. does anyone know which fuse runs the aux plugs ?

The fuse for the aux sockets is in a relay/fuse box just aft of the battery.
