I am installing the 2002 wind deflector tomorrow, and I need to install additional 3m Scotchcal tape to the roof. The side pieces are small, so it should be fairly easy, but is there a trick to installing the center piece? Please help!

Did you also get the two longer bolts?

No, I thought it was a direct replacement. What bolts do I need? BTW, I am not using the basket or any nets. Do I still need longer bolts?

Yes - when retrofitting the 2002 deflector onto a 2000/2001 X, you'll need two longer bolts for the front of the deflector.
http://xterraparts.com has them in stock, and if you take a peak over there, you'll see what I mean...
