here the problem.i need the bolts for the stock oil pan skid on a 2000. went to the dealer hoping they would know the size of the bolts needed. they had no idea so now im asking here. does anyone know the size of the bolts needed for the stock oil pan?

I think you mean the POS splash guard that's in the way of the oil filter, the one where the little SCREWS rust to pieces and disapear into oxidation heaven?

Don't worry about it...use any old screw, you're going to need a fatter thread than you started with anyway...as the damn holes rust out anyway.

So - there are no bolts for it...hence the Stealership's confusion.

To answer your question, the original fasteners are M6x1.0 you can get them at Lowe's or any hardware store, but TJ up there is right, they're near worthless. So, what's the point in replacing them?

Better to drill them out and Re-tap them for M8x1.25. You'll need a 17/64 drill.

I replaced mine with #12 stainless steel self tappers when the truck was under a year old, they are still going strong.
