Xterra Front Seats?

Xterra Front Seats? - 25/11/02 09:24 AM

Hi all,

I have a 2000 SE and I find that the front seats lack support both for the lower back/lumbar, and adjustments.

Any suggestions to improving the support on the flimsy stock seats other than your typical auto parts store cushions? Is there any aftermarket seats which are a relatively affordable which I can purchase which will bolt on?

Would Nissan Pathfinder seats fit the same mounting points on the floor? Or at least the track?

Thanks in advance,
Will [Wave]

I found that some shims at the front of the seat would help. Not the kind of thing you feel right away, but notice after a long trip.

There is also a product called the Lewis Marketing Lumbar Support. A rubber bladder that you pump up with a bulb. I have not looked, so I don't know what/if it could be adapted to X seats.

dave and xtoy - shims were enuf wink

PS - we nuked the duplicate post

I have done both Dave! 1/2" up in the front and the Lewis lumbar support. THe Lewis is well worth the money! smile I have a 6 hour drive on Wednesday...I'll report back in on Sunday night! FWIW I am 6'4".

I followed as well the night before last, using 3 large washers, total 3/16". (the max without opening the holes). Drove 4 hours up north yesturday, the point where I'd normally start feeling the seat, and it was still supportive.
Can't figure out why such a minimal amount helps.. but Thanks.
