HELP!!

Two weeks ago I replaced the stock struts and shock absorbers on my 2007 Xterra with the 4600 Bilsteins. I can now hear a knock coming from the front passenger side wheel well every time I go over a bump. There is no such sound coming from the driver side. I think this is a new sounds, or maybe its an old sound and I'm just hyper sensitive to it now.

Anyone have any idea what the sound might be coming from?

It could be a coincidence, or, it could be a loose attachment.

I'd recommend looking at the upper/lower strut mounts, and see if they are loose.

You might have to jack the front end up to take the tension off, and then try to move them, etc.

You could also drive over a bump and have someone look at it as you go over, etc.

If you also did a spacer or coil lift over ~ 2", you could also be banging the coil bucket.

Thanks for the reply TJ, I really appreciate it. I checked the lower and upper strut mounts and everything seems to be nice and snug. I don't have any sort of a lift, but banging the coil buckets was a thought that crossed my mind, would this be possible if no lift was present, and how could someone prevent the banging?

Cheers,

The part about you looking/listening while someone else drives your rig over a bump, etc....or visa versa...is next.
