Hi everyone, I just bought a new (to me) 2003 Xterra SE 4x4. Only 64,000 miles and the dealership only asked $7750. Couldn't pass it up. Clean carfax, no rust, clean... it looked perfect, except I had my heart set on a manual transmission. Oh well.
Anyway, the only problem I've noticed so far is with the alarm. I attempted to turn off the "horn beep" feature on the keyless entry, and even though the hazards flash 3 times, it still beeps every time I lock and unlock the doors.
If I put the key in the ignition without turning the car on, the alarm goes off. If I attempt to reprogram the keyfob by putting the key in 6 times in 10 seconds, the panic alarm goes off. It's been really annoying. I've been trying to figure out what's wrong but I haven't been able to.
Does this look like an aftermarket alarm system? It came with the car, but I don't know what it is. Looking for some opinions and suggestions. Thank you in advance for your help!
