2000 Xterra Headlight Out; Can't Remove Electric Connector

2000 Xterra Headlight Out; Can't Remove Electric Connector - 18/12/05 04:36 PM

I'm an idiot, let's put that out there first.

I need to replace the driver's side headlight on my 2000 X, and because of the aforementioned idiocy, I'm having a real bitch of a time removing the electric connector to even start the process. The manual implies you should push down on it; ?? I don't know. I spent twenty minutes jiggling it and no progress was made.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Ben

First, Welcome. [Wave] Second, you're not an idiot. Those things can be a PITA. Sometimes they come off first try, other times, it just doesn't want to come off.

There is a plastic tab that holds it in there. Push down, but better yet, squeez it down to dissconnect the tab. If you look at it, you can see what needs to be done. Once you've done it, it is easier.

Sometimes it is also tough to get the metal spring clip to come off an reengage. It's just tricky. laugh
