When my X is idoling it runs a little hot, almost to the point of over heating.
Yes the fan does kick on. Anybody else have this problem?

Yeah, I did and then I replaced my thermostat. Haven't had the problem since.

Yeah, that was my second choice. You flush your radiator out at the same time?
I've changed thermostats before and they are pretty easy. How are they on the X?

Stosh, if you've ever been in the mud, it's probably what's causing it. One of our members had similar problems, and the dealer said "replace the radiator".

We spent a couple hours with the hose after releasing most of the radiator fasteners and rinsed out a lot of mud and leaves that weren't really that visible. All his overheating problems were gone. It doesn't take much mud and crap to block enough air flow to overheat.

Thanks for the heads up. I unfortunetly have not yet been able to take mine in any serious mud yet.

I will check how clean that radiator is though.

Also I need to replace on of my wheel lug studs. I broke it TAKING the lug nut OFF. They cross thread so easily. Anybody have experience replacing them? It doesn't look to hard just curious.

Don't mean to state the obvious, but make sure it isn't something stupid like a plastic bag or some kinda debris that's just caught in front of the radiator... otherwise, have fun changing the thermostat.

Ok cool, I haven't looked as I've been busy since this started happening late Saturday night.

I'm going to see if I can line up a day to do it soon though.

Replacing the thermostat wasn't too bad. I had found some good directions on this website. It took me about 2 hours to do. I did flush the radiator as well. Also, make sure you get all of the air out of the system when you refill it.

There are good directions for refilling the system and bleeding out the air here:
