tps question - 20/06/05 06:34 PM

Ok so I got a SES light today, I was playing with the tps a few weeks ago when doing a tune up. Did the pcm self check and got 4 slow 3 fast = tps.
So I took my service manual and adjusted the tps like the book says. Hook continuity tester to WOT side and with feeler gauge get continuity at .3mm and none at .4 mm all is well, reset code. Now my problem is its idleing at about 1100 rpm?

Did you look at the tps w/an analog meter? A bad tps will give you a rough, jerky reading on the ohm scale. Good one moves smoothly.

Not sure, but, couldn't you adjust the idle by moving the tps?

Did you disconnect the battery to allow the computer to reset?

Except for the analog meter thing, I'm just brainstorming here.

yep tps is smoth with the ohm meter and I have just about 5 volts in the wire going to tps. I did just adjust the idle by moving the tps, but that takes it out of spec then. well I reset the code, and will see if it pops again.
