Hurricane Claudette - 15/07/03 03:27 PM

Any X'er's get blown away by this storm? I'm a little too north, but still got some good rain outta it. Anyone else?

In.

Drove to work in some very high winds, through storm surge where other cars were floating upside down, and enjoyed watching the trees snap through my office window. I also got some pics of Clear Lake during the show and will post 'em later on.

Fun day. I love this stuff! smile

I was hoping we'd at least get enough "influence" from the storm for some heavy rain . . .

Nada.

All day, the storm tracked westward, and I thought it would sweep Travis County.

I don't think it got any further north than San Marcos . . . frown

A little wind (gusts to 30 mph? Please . . . ), and some light rain late last night.

Rats. I like storms.

24 hours before the storm blew in...Dial up users; RUN AWAY!

Need a jetski to get to the bar.

Stuck in traffic for an hour due to 70mph winds and ship channel overflow. Camera phone pics suck.

Clear Lake gettin' pissed.

Is the whip cream bikini contest in the second to last picture still on for Saturday? smile

Looks like a heavy impact for a relatively "small" storm. Thanks for the shots.

And be sure to stop by that bar with the camera
on Saturday!
Mmmmm... whipped cream bikinis. laugh

10 minutes doesn't count as anything.

Remember the heavy rains during the week of July 4th last year? Now that was some good soaking.

It dropped our temperature for the day from 100 to 95, but fortunately we'll recover tomorrow. mad

It rained some, was dark and windy, that's about all. Power did go out here at work for about 10 seconds though.

Alright, alright, but compared to a 10-minute downpour a week of heavy rain is pretty good -- didn't flood anyone out of their homes at all.

Been in Sugarland... steady rain the last couple of days, but nothing too bad. At least I don't have to wash the X! laugh

Re: Hurricane Claudette - 16/07/03 07:17 PM

It was pretty much nothing in Houston. I live on the south side of the city - 610 near 288 - and there was some rain and a little wind. The north side of the city (at work) got some light showers, but not much. Basically pretty weak this far north of the coast.

Re: Hurricane Claudette - 16/07/03 07:25 PM

I'm in the Ellington/Clear Lake area and have an office right on the ship channel, and we saw quite a bit of action up until about lunch hour. I've seen much worse, but it was still fun to watch.

Re: Hurricane Claudette - 17/07/03 05:58 AM

There wasn't much action in Sugar Land or in the Galleria area. Just some heavy rain and thunder. It didn't even last all day. I was hoping to get off from work. frown
