House of Representatives Pay raise passes

Damn, must be nice to be able to vote on your own raises. Hell, Congress even has it set up now where they don't have to vote for a raise, it just happens! Geez.

Not a shabby salary either, especially with all the perks they get.

No one goes to Congress for the pay.

It's the POWER.

With the economy the way it is and every state budget hurting, there is one word for what congress did. Criminal!

Okay.. I'm not a big fan of Congress at the moment and all.. but they got COST OF LIVING increases.. Yes, I understand their salary is on the high side, BUT if my company didn't give me at least cost of living as a raise, then I'd be pissed off. I certainly don't blame them for getting CoL.

Geez I'm sorry but if you cant live on 150K a year you need to re-examine your spending. CoL for the average Joe, yeah give it to him, government employee, sure them as well. Posh living, $hit tossing, money wasting politicians? No. An emphatic hell no.
They should be ashamed of themselves.

I'm a state govt. worker and our cost of living raises were eliminated about 8 years ago. Yes, congress is way over paid. Be a congressman for 1 term and your set for life.
