Pics from Hilton head and Atl. Auto Show

Christine and I took a very much-needed short weekend vacation to Hilton Head SC. We had to wait till after 5pm on Friday to leave so that had us arriving at 11:30pm at the hotel. Saturday was spent goofing off at the beach, rollerblading down the sidewalks past $1-2.000.000 homes, and of course eating. We also got a great hotel for cheap using expedia.com, got a room for $99 that normally goes for $170. Can't beat that since we didn't decide to go on the trip till Wednesday.

We saw several signs posted around town that said “Do Not Feed the Alligators” We soon found out why when we spotted on sunning him or herself between a pond and US 278. Guess they run around there like squirrels.


Since we couldn't drive on the beach we did the next best thing.

Lets go kayaking!

After we got back in town we parked at Marta and took the train to the Atlanta Auto Show.

I found it strange that Nissan chose to not have a 4x4 or a SE/SC Xterra at the auto show.

Christine no longer wants a yellow X, now she wants a Mini Cooper, fun looking little car!



We had a great 2-day trip and we are looking forward to going back. If you ever go to Hilton Head be sure to take your bikes, if you do you wont really have to drive much!

Maybe it's just me, but it appears the one you're sitting in has a supercharger on it. Normal wheels, but a supercharger.

yup its an XE/SC. You can get the Supercharger on both trim levels.

Yup get it all the time! If you are inquiring about the crab and the matchbox trucks, Christine found the crab and put it with them and took the pic later.

Hmm, I didn't realize that was an option. I guess it's true about learning something new every day.

Btw, were all the knobs in the truck in the auto show?

I hate when I go to the New York Auto Show and all the knobs are gone! Makes the truck look cheesy to those who don't own one. Looks more like the "Phoenix" Auto Show.

yup all that ones you can take off were gone. Even the 4x4 SC frontier they had on display was missing the 4x4 shift knob, I thought those took some finesse to get off?

Nice pics. The Matchboxes with the crab sort of remind me of one of those Saturn SUV ads. Heh. Nice shot of the Cooper. Eagerly awaiting when one of my buddies gets his - he's about a month away on the waiting list out here for the supercharged version. That should be a kick in the pants.

I haven't been to HH in a few years, but I love that place. Last time I was there we stayed in a house overlooking a lagoon like the one in your pic. It was teeming with gators. For kicks we'd sit on the balcony and throw hot dogs at them. The gators would jump and snatch them in mid air before they had a chance to hit the water.
