Lows & Highs - 23/02/06 09:59 PM

Started in a the desert wash with 16 trucks, climbed some dry waterfalls, visited a old mine site, traversed a canyon with some rock to climb w/ water running down, passed through a yucca tree stand, by some long horn cattle, up a few thousand more feet all the way to 8k on a rocky trail to the top of the mountain where the snow flurry’s where blowing and the temps dropping by the moment. Ah what a great time climbing all the way :-)

Some of my favorites pixs from Wolfman, Aperion, Frank, Fierce, and Me.

Great pics and looks to be sweet wheelin' too [ThumbsUp] That granite gets wet and it can be tricky to crawl on.. It'll be nice to work with the new gears smile

"You said, started with 16 trucks. How many did you end with? "

Everyone made it through, if that's what you mean. 15 Xterra's and 1 2WD Toyota pickup. The Toyota needed a bit of help at times. The group spilt into 2 towards the top, with about half of us taking a more challenging "short-cut". No one was left behind.

Here are a few more photos, starting in the dusty desert.

Working our way up the canyon.

Testing the depth of an old vertical mineshaft.

Higher elevation, but not yet to the pines.

After the group split.

God, I wish we'd get at least one snowstorm in AZ this winter.

They're saying it's the driest winter in CENTURIES here. Flagstaff normally has had about 72" of snow by this time. This year they've had under 2".

No rain here in Phoenix for 135 days now. Second longest stretch in history.

Nice pics, BTW.
