Best snow cables or chains for 2006 Xterra... - 29/01/08 04:42 PM

Can someone recommend good snow chains for my the stock tires that came on my S model. It's a rear wheel drive. But this will be my first time driving in the snow but I'm sooooo ready to go Xterra playing.

Any ideas?

I have this set

I would have to say, the do the job IF, they are put on correctly and stay on. They are made tuff enough to handle snow, which worked well for me.

BUT both of mine broke, after the first time I used them (I used them on more than just snow, i.e. trees and mud [Smoking] )

Les Schwab replaced them for free (even after the warranty). That's pretty good for them, especially since the past I hated their service.

I've heard it's better to use cables instead of chains, in terms of their ease of putting them on.

Any insight?
