My second set of Firestone Destination MTs ( great tires [ThumbsUp] ) were wearing down, so I thought I'd upgrade for '05...

They ride smooth, quiet too. Only trimming necessary is on the front wells, at the lower, rear corner.

You know with a S/C you're always looking for the next gas station. [LOL] Although I think it is improving now that the belt isn't overtightened anymore.

I guess we'll both see. laugh

Muchas Grassy Ass!

I'm leaving in about 10 minutes again too. Usually work 3 weeks on and 3 days off and getting to internet while away is a bit of a PITA right now. Don't ask me what I think of it! mad

Re: '01 w/ 285/75/R16 Bridgestone Dueler MTs - 05/06/05 01:08 PM

Well, I learned a valuable lesson in MOAB last week. 33s require more metal trimming (w/ a 3" SL) than I'd once thought. After making my way down a stretch of road at maybe 40 mph, I hit the third of three whoop-de-doos and had to stop to see what the noise I'd just heard was. The tires had folded back the metal to where it wanted it [Uh Oh !] , and so the next morning, I headed to MOAB Outpost 4x4 and had some trimming done. (They were also great about getting all the welding I needed done too. I logged 3 hours total) The crunching had also sheared the brackets which hold the fenders to the body, so he fabbed new ones and welded those on too. [Smoking] [ThumbsUp]

DBAX

Do you think running the fiberglass replacement fenders would have prevented this? I was considering this option, rather than a body lift. I thought that it might also be easier to trim the glass to fit rather than the metal.

Well, the glass fenders do look better IMO. They're no harder to trim than the metal either way. Even though I've been contacting BUSHWACKER abaout a 3" plastic fender flare for months now, (and I encourage you too as well smile ) I'd like a set of fenders in yellow I suppose smile KaOTiK has them in black.

We wheeled all last week an I wasn't aware he was having any clearance issues..Look for pics of his truck in recent GONE photos
