Help / Question: Putting 2004 Titan Wheels on 2001 XTerra? - 21/06/04 07:52 AM

I'm trying to put 2004 OE Nissan Titan 18x8 alloy wheels onto my 2001 XE 4WD XTerra.

I'm not sure this is even possible. Everything appears to be the same between the stock XTerra wheels and the Titan wheels except for a smaller offset on the Titan (due to the wheel being 1" wider) and the fact that the XTerra has a 4" hub while the Titan is only 3" (this is my problem).

2001 Nissan XTerra stock wheels:
Wheels: 15.0" x 7.0" (Alloy)
Bolts: 6 x 5.5" (139.7mm)
Threads: 12.00mm x 1.25
Center Bore: 0
Offset: 40mm
Hub Size: 4"

2004 Nissan Titan stock wheels:
Wheels: 18.0" x 8.0" (Alloy)
Bolts: 6 x 5.5" (139.7mm)
Threads: 12.00mm x 1.25
Center Bore: 0
Offset: 25mm(???)
Hub Size: 3"

Has anyone done anything like this?
Might this be possible by using a hub spacer/adapter?
Can the XTerra's auto hub on the front wheels be replaced by anything smaller?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

You can't do it. No way around the offset problem other than a lift and the hub problem can't be resolved.

You might be able to overcome the centerbore/hub problem by installing the drive flanges from a 96+ Pathfinder in lieu of the auto hubs, but something tells me that wouldn't work.

You would have better luck swapping out the driveline rather than trying to getto fab some dangerous solution. But why are you wanting to put those wheels on there in the first place?

Well, I really like the look of a good sized wheel with a big tire, but there's very little selection for a 17" or 18" wheel that will fit an XTerra. I hate the 'pimped out chrome look', so I was looking for something a little more understated, i.e. a stock Titan wheel.
