Correct offset/backspace?

Correct offset/backspace? - 29/03/01 08:45 AM

What aftermarket rims out there can be easily interchanged with the stock ones?

Does anyone have any exp with the American Eagle (series 589) wheels? Can one easily put 31/10.5 or 32/11.5 on these wheels and have them fit under the X?

There are no after market steel wheels available (off the shelf) that have the proper off-set and backspacing.

The American Racing AR-767 are close. My personal experience is that a tire no larger than a 31x10.5-15 will work ok with this rim without rubbing (minor torsion bar adjustment and wheel well trimming req'd).

Larger tires will not work properly with anything other than a wheel with the same OS/BS as the stock wheels.

There are companies who will make you a custom wheels with the proper OS/BS. Search thru site to locate them.

Try Stockton Wheel. They make custom steel offroad wheels. I have some on order, they take about 4 weeks before your wheels are shipped but at $80 ea, for custom wheels i'm not complaining.
