It works out to be a 33/10.00 or so. Should solve some of the space and fitiment issues and still provide some extra clearance. And yes I guess it would probably a little less stable as far as ending up on your noggin in the rocks:)

Just curious?

I'm wanting that size for my Fronty this summer. Dunlop, Bridgestone, Interco, and a few others have tires in that size. That TRXUS tire is available in that size, and that's what I'm thinking I'll get.

You're right about clearance, width is usually the issue, even after a lift. I think a little inner-fender magic will cure any issues that would come up with that size.

Have you lifted your truck? Those wont fit on a stock height truck. You should be able to kinda get by with an AAL/T-bar tweak with some trimming. Would really recommend a 3" lift before you attempt those tires.

If you go with that you are going to have a very tall skinny tire. If you went to a 285/75R16 that would translate to an 11.5" X 33" tire that you would need at least a suspension and possibly a 2" BL to clear though.

We ran into a Toyota Tundra with 255/85/16 BFG muds on it last weekend in Moab. The section width may be close to 10" wide but the tread width is more like 7". Way too skinny for me, not much footprint at all. It also appeared that when aired down they are quite squirmy. This is just my opinion, they may work great for you.

I am running 285/75/16 MTR's om stock wheels with only a 3" suspension lift and I still have some minor rubbing issues, but not bad.

I have 285/75R16 Trxus on a 3" suspension lift . It used to rub pretty bad. I had trimmed the mud flaps a lot, but they still rubbed a when stuffed and turned Eventually the tires and the mud flap worked it out on their own. The driver side got ripped off by the tire. I removed the plastic trim around the wheel wells and that helped a lot, but I still have minor rubbing in the rear when it's completely stuffed

Thinks for the input. I have not lifted yet and was just drooling over tires and such when I saw the narrower 33's and I tried and tried to search but didn't find a thing on 255/85/16's. [LOL]
